Arlington Meadows Subdivision Park and Splash Pad
The County of Brant is excited to share plans for the new Arlington Meadows Subdivision Park and Splash Pad in Paris, a space designed for fun, community connection, and nature exploration. We need your input to bring this project to life!
In June 2023, we gathered community feedback for the initial design concepts through a Parks and Recreation survey which helped shape this large 5 acre park into two unique themes, Orchard and Woods & Wildlife.
To be located on Becker Street in the Arlington Meadows subdivision, both designs include:

In June 2023, we gathered community feedback for the initial design concepts through a Parks and Recreation survey which helped shape this large 5 acre park into two unique themes, Orchard and Woods & Wildlife.
To be located on Becker Street in the Arlington Meadows subdivision, both designs include:
- a splash pad
- playgrounds
- full sized lit basketball court
- softball field
- seasonal washrooms
- accessible pathways
- spaces for all ages and abilities to enjoy year-round
However, each concept highlights their own distinct ways to experience nature and enjoy outdoor activities.
Orchard signifies a cultivated, vibrant landscape full of trees arranged in linear patterns, symbolising growth, nourishment, and community. This vibrant design was inspired by orchards with lush greenery and includes educational play and gathering spaces.
Woods and Wildlife emphasizes the untamed, diverse ecosystem, conservation, and the connection between plants and animals. This organic design celebrates biodiversity and includes forest patches, animal-themed play features, and a connection to nature.

We also hosted an in-person engagement session at the Brant Sports Complex on February 5, where about 15 people joined us to learn more and share their ideas.
We heard from you online and in person — thank you to everyone who took the time to participate!
The Winning Concept: Woods and Wildlife
Of the proposed design options, Woods and Wildlife stood out as your favourite!
You told us you love the natural feel of this concept, with its large trees, opportunities to connect with nature, and an “organic” layout that’s perfect for exploring, biking, and imaginative play. Many of you shared that this theme helps bring back a sense of nature that has been lost due to nearby development.
What We Heard
Make it accessible and connected
Smooth, paved walking paths that loop through the park and connect key areas are a top priority. You also asked for accessible features like a wheelchair swing, sensory boards, and more inclusive play areas.
Embrace natural design
You want to see natural climbing structures, treehouse-style features, and habitats for butterflies and birds — including planting more milkweed.
Add more play and recreation options
You asked for more open space for running and sports, along with new ideas like a bike trail, disc golf, musical elements, and an outdoor ice rink or ball hockey pad.
Include comfort features
More benches near the playground and splashpad and lighting around the play area and ball diamond were popular requests.
Keep listening
Many participants thanked the County for including the community and asked that your input be reflected in the final design — and we’re listening!
What’s Next?
We’re using your feedback to help refine the Woods and Wildlife concept and finalize the design. Stay tuned! We’ll be sharing updated designs in the next week or so and sharing even more updates as construction begins so subscribe for updates and be the first to learn more!
