Arlington Meadows Subdivision Park and Splash Pad

The County of Brant is excited to share plans for the new Arlington Meadows Subdivision Park and Splash Pad in Paris, a space designed for fun, community connection, and nature exploration. We need your input to bring this project to life!

In June 2023, we gathered community feedback for the initial design concepts through a Parks and Recreation survey which helped shape this large 5 acre park into two unique themes, Orchard and Woods & Wildlife.

To be located on Becker Street in the Arlington Meadows subdivision, both designs include:

  • a splash pad
  • playgrounds
  • full sized lit basketball court
  • softball field
  • seasonal washrooms
  • accessible pathways
  • spaces for all ages and abilities to enjoy year-round

However, each concept highlights their own distinct ways to experience nature and enjoy outdoor activities.

Orchard signifies a cultivated, vibrant landscape full of trees arranged in linear patterns, symbolising growth, nourishment, and community. This vibrant design was inspired by orchards with lush greenery and includes educational play and gathering spaces.

Woods and Wildlife emphasizes the untamed, diverse ecosystem, conservation, and the connection between plants and animals. This organic design celebrates biodiversity and includes forest patches, animal-themed play features, and a connection to nature.

  • Please expand on the unforeseen circumstances that has caused a 1 year delay. Please provide the community a detailed response along with the actions being taken to expedite this project. It is quite disappointing for the kids in this neighborhood that summer is approaching and you have once again failed to reach the target deadline. The park was suppose to be completed initially fall 2025 and then spring 2026 and now we have once again moved the deadline. Additionally, the neighbourhood looks terrible with a project that has started and left half way. Our community needs detailed answers! Thank you!

The reasons for the delay were due to the initial tendering process requiring a longer due diligence period, as well as some grading and soil deficiencies that required analysis and planning to advance construction.  Unfortunately, winter weather arrived earlier in Fall of 2025 than usual, which shut down construction activities for the remainder of winter.

Planning and ordering of materials has occurred behind the scenes over the last few months and construction is scheduled to resume very shortly, as soon as the weather cooperates.  An updated construction timeline is not available from the contractor yet, but an update will be posted once this is available. We are very excited for this project to be complete!

  • Hi! Can we get an update on this park that was suppose to be completed in fall 2025. We are now in spring 2026 and it looks like constructions is at a halt. The kids in this community have been eagerly awaiting this park for years. I await your response.

Thank you for your question. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had a few delays on this project. The park construction will continue into spring, and the park will be completed later in 2026. Stay tuned!

  • Is the Arlington Meadows park expected completion date still tracking for spring 2026? Thanks!

Jen Paris asked about 2 months ago

Thank you for your question! The project construction will continue into spring, but the park will not e completed until later in 2026. Stay tuned!

  • When is the park anticipated to complete construction?

    robhunter asked 10 months ago

Completion is expected in Spring 2026.

  • I don't see any pickleball courts in the plans. Consideration of these would be appropriate. The only one I am aware of is on Hartley Ave in the north end of town.

Thank you for your feedback - we are accepting all comments for consideration at this time.

Please note, the County of Brant has plans to construct multi-court pickleball/ tennis courts at a large destination park in Paris in a few years.

  • Where exactly is the park going to be located?

robhunter asked about 1 year ago

The park is located at 7 Becker Street in Paris, which is off Grandville Circle. The page has been updated with a map. Thank you for your feedback!

  • I am new to the email updates of Brant County and can not for the life of me figure out where this new park is. Paris, St. George, Burford,???

  • I have no idea where this park is going to be. Neither google maps or the design layout shows the streets they are on. A basic in context map would be helpful for reviewing this proposal.

  • I chose the Orchard theme for the primary reason of a larger splash pad surface. Regardless of the design, there should be a predominance of food-bearing trees and a commitment to the 3x30x300 tree canopy guideline.
