The County of Brant is encouraging all residents to share their thoughts regarding a possible review of the current ward boundaries and Council composition to ensure proper representation of our growing community. This preliminary engagement will help us get a better understanding of whether changes are needed to better serve our residents or if the existing structure is still effective.

A community survey will be used to gather feedback from July 3 to July 26, 2024. The results of this survey, as well as comments and questions received from the community, will be shared with the Policy Development Committee on September 3, 2024. Based on your feedback, the committee will decide whether to move forward with a full review or keep things as they are for the 2026 election. If changes are made, they will come into effect after the Municipal and School Board Election on October 26, 2026.

  • Share Explain how it is in the best interest of the county to spend 41 million dollars on a new library? Price went up from 37 million and now at 41 million. What’s next 50 million. This is outrageous when it’s not needed and there is not a benefit to the whole county. How about council rethink that idea. Upgrade our aging infrastructure. Thanks for wasting my tax dollars. Rethink the counties priorities. This is not one of them. on Facebook Share Explain how it is in the best interest of the county to spend 41 million dollars on a new library? Thank you for providing your comments and voicing your concerns about this project. Feedback from the community is very important to help guide County priorities. The County is interested in working towards the most cost-effective project that achieves all of the goals and requirements for the Paris Main Branch Library facility. The project is in the detailed design phase with tendering tentatively planned for fall 2024. County Council will then review the competitive bids and determine whether the project will proceed to construction. Please continue to follow this project and engage during public consultation opportunities.
