Dundas Street East construction expected to begin end of March

Road reconstruction for Dundas Street East, Paris Road and Oak Park Road is beginning shortly.

This multi-year infrastructure project is replacing aging underground services, extending new services and will improve how the road functions for drivers, pedestrians, businesses, and support future employment growth in the area – bringing new jobs close to home.

Work is expected to start in late March 2026.


Stage 1 (Anticipated March 23 - 30, 2026)

Dundas and Paris Road Intersection

  • Complete installation of sanitary, storm sewers and watermain within the intersection to the south and east.


Traffic Impacts

  • Dundas St E - Eastbound traffic will be reduced to one lane which must detour onto Paris Rd. There will be no straight through onto Governors Rd E or left turns onto Green Ln at the intersection.
  • Dundas St E - Westbound traffic will be maintained.
  • Governors Rd E - Westbound traffic will be reduced to one lane. Left turns onto Paris Rd will not be permitted.
  • Green Lane - Southbound traffic may only turn right onto Dundas St E. There will be no straight through onto Paris Rd or left turns onto Governors Rd E
  • Paris Rd - Only southbound traffic permitted




Stage 2 (Anticipated March 30, 2026 to late Summer)

Dundas Street East (both eastbound lanes on the south side of the road) and Paris Road

  • Dundas St E - Complete the tunneling for the watermain under the CN bridge
  • Dundas St E (between Curtis Ave S to Paris Rd on the south side of the road) - Complete installation of watermain and services
  • Dundas St / Paris Rd intersection - Relocate hydro poles
  • Dundas St E (two south lanes) - Complete the road restoration, curbing and sidewalk
  • Paris Rd - Complete installation of sanitary, storm sewers, watermain
  • Paris Rd to Oak Park Rd and on Oak Park Rd to the railway tracks - Complete installation of sanitary forcemain
  • Paris Rd - Complete road restoration, curbing and some sidewalk


Traffic Impacts

  • Dundas St E – Eastbound and westbound traffic will be reduced to one lane each Eastbound traffic will be unable to make left turns onto Consolidated Dr
  • Governors Rd E - Westbound traffic will be reduced to one lane and unable to make left turns onto Paris Rd
  • Green Lane - Southbound traffic will be unimpeded
  • Paris Rd – There will only be southbound traffic. No northbound traffic permitted




Stage 3 is scheduled to occur between late Summer to late Fall and will focus on Dundas Street (both westbound lanes on the north side of the road) and Governors Road. Traffic impacts will occur and will be communicated prior to the start of this stage.

  • Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the project.
  • Access to businesses will be maintained throughout the project.
  • Detours will be posted. This closure will impact travel through the east end of Paris and will require detours for traffic travelling to and from the east end of the community.
