As the downtown area gets reshaped through the Downtown Dig project, the zoning regulations are being updated at the same time to complement the changes. These new rules will make sure that the land can be used in a way that works well with the new downtown design and improvements, making it easier and more accessible for pedestrians, supporting local businesses, and keeping the historical feel of Downtown Paris. The updated regulations will also support the redevelopment by reducing the need for additional planning approvals. Both the construction and zoning changes will work together to help the downtown grow and stay strong into the future.

This project has been paused so that it can be coordinated with the forthcoming Community Planning Permit System (CPPS) and updates to Downtown Paris Master Plan. More information will be provided on the next steps in Spring 2026.

Downtown Paris Zoning Public Open House
County of Brant Staff are hosting a Public Open House on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 where they will provide displays that further explain the project.
There will not be a formal presentation but staff will be on hand for individual conversations, to gather feedback, and answer questions. Light refreshments will also be provided.
