The purpose of the Brant Sports Complex expansion project is to provide more indoor recreation options for County residents and help meet the growing demand for recreational programs in our community. By potentially adding a gymnasium, program rooms, a walking track, and flexible changerooms, the space will support more activities, improve accessibility, and create a modern, multi-use facility for sports, fitness, and community events.

We understand that many in our community would love to see an indoor pool as part of this project, and we appreciate how important this amenity is to our residents. However, due to the significant financial resources required to build and operate a pool, it is not something the County would be able to include in this expansion at this time.

This project focuses on providing versatile, cost-effective recreation spaces—such as a gymnasium, program rooms, and a walking track—that meet a wide range of needs and are within our current budget. We remain committed to listening to community feedback and exploring opportunities to enhance recreational facilities in the future.

The potential new expansion would have several multi-use courts and related infrastructure  such as: 

• spectator seating
• court dividers
• scoreboards
• new energy-efficient systems to support participant comfort

Should Council approve the expansion, the construction is estimated to be completed at the end of 2027, subject to weather conditions, permitting, and construction schedules.

Yes. The Brant Sports Complex will remain open, but there may be temporary disruptions to some activities. We would communicate any potential disruptions or schedule changes in advance to minimize inconvenience.

The project is funded through a combination of development charges, the municipal capital budget, grants, and potential community fundraising initiatives.

Fee structures are currently under review and will be communicated once finalized. The goal is to keep the facility affordable and accessible for all.
