Bendemere Road, Paris

Led by Paris Grand Estates Inc. and their consulting team, MTE Consultants Inc., the Bendemere Road project will deliver new road and servicing infrastructure to support the Paris Grand Estates development. The County of Brant will share updates through this project page so you know what to expect and when.

What to expect

Construction on Bendemere Road between Grand River Street North and Heming Street, including the connection near Paris Links Road, will be shared once it is provided by the consultant.

The project will:

  • Create a new road connection to serve the development.
  • Add a sidewalk or multi use path.
  • Install storm sewer infrastructure.
  • Help reduce traffic pressure on Paris Links Road by providing a new access route.

You may notice construction activity along Bendemere Road, minor traffic impacts in the area, and short term disruptions as work progresses. Traffic impacts are expected to be minor and any changes that affect access or travel will be shared in advance when possible.

Open house

The County of Brant is inviting residents to attend an upcoming Public Information Open House for the Grand River Street North Improvements and Bendemere Road projects in Paris.

This drop in event will give community members an opportunity to learn more about both projects, view project information, and speak directly with members of the project teams.

The details

  • Date: Thursday, June 18, 2026
  • Time: 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm
  • Location: Paris Fairgrounds, Paris Ag Hall, Special Event Building

Though there will not be a formal presentation, residents are encouraged to stop by anytime during the event to ask questions, share comments, and learn more about what to expect as work moves forward.

  • Why was this less than 700m section of former Paris Links not renamed West River, which it becomes immediately after the new subdivision? When the new intersection was installed (now Paris Links & Bendemere) the road sign that initially went up was West River, which actually made sense. Was it just too logical? Additionally, I'm curious to know if the 70+ town houses you're jamming into 4½ acres will be on Bendemere, or West River? The current address is West River, but it sure would be strange to have side by side new development with different street names... and if Bendemere, will the current residents across the road have to change their address? Where any of the current residents, both West River and the former Paris Links consulted at all prior to the naming of Bendemere?

    Neil asked 4 months ago

We apologize for the delay in answering your question.

Residents were notified at the time of the changes and the residents helped name the street. The changes occurred in August 2023.

The new development at 73 West River Road has not yet been assigned municipal addresses; however, it will be addressed off Bendemere Road. This has been noted in the Planning Act application comments and the pre-consultation comments.

  • Is Paris Links Road still going to be a dead end when bendemere road opens as promised?

    Blackbird63 asked 7 days ago

Thank you for your question.  Yes, Paris Links Road at Grand River St N will be a dead end (with a turnaround) following the opening of Bendemere Road. However, pedestrian access will be maintained
