Thank you for participating! Here's what we heard and what's next.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to review the draft Parks Master Plan and share feedback. Your input is helping shape the future of parks, trails, and outdoor spaces across the County of Brant.
What we heard
Here is a summary of what we heard.
Access to parks matters
You told us that where parks are located is just as important as how many there are. Concerns where shared about limited access and longer travel times for east Brant and rural residents. You’d like to see more options closer to home.
Flexible spaces are important
You want parks that can be used in different ways. You shared that existing fields and open spaces should support a wider range of activities, including cultural and community uses, without needing new infrastructure.
Better connections are needed
You support expanding trails and active transportation. At the same time, you want to see clearer connections within your own community, including safer cycling options and links to existing trails in communities like St. George.
Clear boundaries and signage
You shared concerns about confusion between public and private land along trails. You want clearer signage and better information to help people understand where they can and cannot go.
More clarity on how decisions are made
You asked for more information about how park locations are chosen and what limits where parks can be built. You want to better understand zoning, funding, and how priorities are set.
