North of the Nith Trails and Open Spaces Master Plan approved by Council
The County of Brant Council has officially approved the North of the Nith Trails and Open Spaces Master Plan and Implementation Strategy at the February 24, 2026 Council meeting.
This milestone marks the completion of two years of planning, research, and community engagement to guide the future of this unique natural space in the County of Brant.
Throughout the planning process, residents, community organizations, First Nations partners, and County staff shared valuable feedback that helped shape the vision for the site. Community input helped inform key priorities including environmental restoration and protection, improved trail connectivity, enhanced access to natural areas, and new opportunities for outdoor recreation and education.
We would like to thank everyone who took the time to participate in the engagement activities, attend meetings and events, review project materials, and share their ideas and feedback. Your input played an important role in developing a plan that balances recreation, environmental stewardship, and long term sustainability.
The approved Master Plan includes a long term implementation strategy that outlines potential projects and improvements that may be considered over the next 20 or more years as funding, partnerships, and regulatory approvals become available.
We will continue to share project updates and future engagement opportunities on this page as implementation proceeds. Subscribe for updates by adding your email to the Stay Informed box on this page and click ‘Subscribe'.
