Changes are being planned for Mount Pleasant Park, and we want to hear from you!
The County of Brant is planning improvements to Mount Pleasant Park, starting with a new, Council approved multi-sport court, scheduled for construction in 2027.
With this addition, we're also looking at how other park features could fit into the space, including possible changes to the existing modular skate park, the Council approved addition of the Mount Pleasant Railway Station as well as public washrooms.
We've developed two proposed park layouts, and we'd like to hear what you think! Your feedback will help us understand what matters most to park users and nearby residents as we work toward a final design.
What is being planned?
Here's a look at the improvements and options being considered:
Multi-sport court: Council has approved a new multi-sport court for construction in 2027. The proposed location is on the existing skate park pad, and we'd like your feedback on whether this is a suitable location.
Public washrooms: Washrooms are planned for 2028. We're exploring different types of facilities to determine what would best meet the needs of park users.
Skate park or pump track: We're looking at whether to relocate the existing skate park or consider a small pump track for non-motorized bikes and scooters instead.
Railway heritage museum: In 2019, Council gave the Brant Railway Heritage Society permission to relocate the restored LE&N train station to Mount Pleasant Park. We're looking at two possible locations, along with supporting features such as parking and loading areas. The timing of the relocation has not yet been confirmed.
Some improvements have already received Council approval, while decisions about their locations and other park features are still being considered. Your feedback will help guide those decisions.
Review the designs and share your thoughts
Two concepts have been developed showing different ways the park features could be arranged. Take a look at the improvements and options being considered before completing the survey.
Option A: The railway heritage museum would be located closer to Burtch Road.
Option B: The railway heritage museum would be located closer to the trail, behind the tennis court.
Both concepts also consider the new multi-sport court and potential changes to the existing skate park. Depending on the final layout, the soccer field may also be affected.

It’s not really a question but just a suggestion. I know in tillsonburg they have an outdoor hockey rink that can withstand the warmer climate to keep the ice in better shape and provides way more time to use. I think that would be a great idea. Thanks

Thank you for the information - we will look into this!
Has there been any thought to the rail trail being integrated into the proposed design. Especially since the L E & N station will be part of the overall new park?

Thank you for the feedback. Two concept plans are currently being completed, so there is a possibility of the station going next to the trail and having a connection.
