The County created the current Filming Policy (CM-2024-03) in 2024. The policy guides how filming companies operate in small communities. It includes rules for notifications, traffic and parking controls, filming hours, noise limits, road access, and support for residents and businesses.
It has been one year since the policy came into effect and we want to know more about your experiences with filming in the County of Brant since the creation of the policy. Your feedback will help determine if the policy needs updates and what the updates may be.
Why your feedback matters
You see and experience the direct impacts of filming in your neighbourhood.
You can help us better understand what works and what needs improvement.
Your feedback helps shape a process that supports residents while encouraging economic development.
Benefits of filming for the community
Filming builds community pride and brings positive media attention.
Productions highlight our communities and attract tourism.
Local groups and businesses often receive donations and financial support during filming.
Filming shines a spotlight on local spaces, places, stories, and traditions. It helps people see what makes the community special and strengthens our sense of identity.
We will review community input, identify common concerns and suggestions, and will prepare recommended amendments to the Filming Policy if needed. A What We Heard summary as well as the full survey results will be shared with you and posted on Engage Brant.
