Thank You for Sharing Your Thoughts on Events in the County of Brant!

Between February 18 and March 28, we invited you to help shape the future of events in the County of Brant—and you delivered! With 113 survey responses and about 60 residents joining us at pop-up events, your input will help guide the County’s event planning and promotion going forward.

This engagement included:

  • This dedicated Engage Brant project page with project details and updates
  • Newspaper ads in the Expositor, Paris Independent and Ayr News
  • Posters at community centres, TV screen notices in public spaces, social media posts on the County’s Facebook and Instagram platforms
  • A paid video ad campaign that reached more than 20,000 people on Facebook and Instagram
  • 4 in-person pop-up events throughout the County

We’re grateful to everyone who participated, shared feedback, and told their stories.

What We Heard

Here’s a quick look at what you told us:

🎉 You love community events — and want more variety!

Top favourites include food festivals, farmers’ markets, seasonal celebrations, music, and family-friendly activities. Many residents also want to see:

  • More live music, food festivals, and farmers’ markets
  • More holiday and seasonal celebrations
  • Events that are affordable and accessible to all ages

📍Paris is a hub—but there’s room to grow across the County.

Many suggested making better use of spaces like Lions Park and downtown Paris, while ensuring events happen throughout the County.

🤔 Concerns were few, but worth noting.

While 60% of participants had no concerns, a few shared feedback on:

  • Traffic and street closures
  • Noise from amplified sound
  • High admission costs for vendor events
  • Limited promotion beyond social media
  • Scheduling issues for families and seniors

📣 You want better promotion.

Most people hear about events on social media or by word of mouth. Some miss out because they didn’t hear about events early enough or at all. You suggested:

  • Sending out monthly event calendars
  • Using more print ads and community bulletin boards
  • Promoting through local businesses, groups, and public spaces

Your ideas help us improve

From requests for more diverse and inclusive events to hopes for a permanent event space, your feedback will guide us as we plan future community celebrations.
