What is a Community Safety and Well-being Plan?

A Community Safety and Well-Being Plan helps make sure that:

  • Everyone feels safe and included in the community.
  • Everyone can easily access the services they need.
  • Individuals and families have the support to meet their needs, including education, health care, food, housing, income, and opportunities to connect with others.

5 Key Proposed Priorities

  1. Mental Health, Wellness, and Substance Use Supports - Ensuring people have access to the right resources and care for their mental health, overall well-being, and substance use challenges.
  2. Youth Empowerment and Opportunities - Providing young people with meaningful opportunities to learn, grow, and participate in their community.
  3. Housing Affordability and Unhoused Supports - Working on solutions to support individuals facing housing challenges.
  4. Connected and Safe Mobility - Improving transportation and mobility options to ensure people can move safely and easily around the community.
  5. Community Belonging - Creating an inclusive and welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and connected.
