Cainsville Watertower

The County of Brant invites you to engage with us as we consider alternatives to provide water, wastewater, and stormwater servicing in Cainsville. This includes expanding services to currently unserviced areas within the settlement boundary. The study will identify the preferred alternatives to prepare for long-term growth through to the year 2051.

The study will be completed as a Schedule ‘C’ project in accordance with the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process (Municipal EngineersMap of Cainsville Study AreaCainsville Study Area Map Association, June 2000, as amended in 2015). The study will also be guided by the County of Brant Official Plan and the Boundary

  • Share Good evening, just wondering if it would be possible to get the information from the meeting on June 21, 2023 regarding city water and sewage on Blossom Ave. I was unfortunately not able to attend the meeting but would like to know the outcome of it. Will Brant School Road be included?

deej2005 asked over 1 year ago

Thanks for your interest in this study. Some lands on the south side of Brant School Road are within the Cainsville Settlement Boundary and a plan to extend municipal water and wastewater services has been included in the recommended alternatives. The June 21, 2023 presentation material is now available on Engage Brant. Please feel free to submit comments on the proposed recommended alternatives.

    Thank you,

    M. Maxwell, Project Engineer

What is the timing and cost?

Richard asked about 3 years ago

Thanks for your question. We’re currently still reviewing the various water, wastewater and stormwater options, so detailed cost estimates have not been developed yet. We will be developing cost estimates for the various options and presenting them at a second public meeting that will occur in the spring of 2022. Once the preferred alternatives are confirmed and the Class EA study is finalized, the County will immediately proceed to detailed design and construction of the initial phases.

It’s far more important to have high speed internet and natural gas infrastructure. Alternatively, give us options for solar installation so we are not so dependent on the unstable grid we’re on now. on Facebook Share Our preferred drinking water source is the one we have now: our well. Thank you for your comments. We agree that the natural environment and safe drinking water should be protected. All alternatives that are considered in the current study for Cainsville will be evaluated against these two very important criteria, among others. Please feel free to join us at the October 28th virtual public meeting.
