Row Lane Park Plan

I would love to see activities geared to older youth such as a skooter park and or bmx pump track. This not only encourages healthy activities it keeps youth from lingering in downtown places or on the streets. While living here for 16 years ,those of us that moved here with small children at the time now need more options for them now that they have grown into older youths.

I would love to see a rink for the winter, so a tap would be great... kids in the area have no where to
Skate.

We are long time residents living downtown by Kingsward park. I feel this is a great idea for (ALL) new subdivisions being built in Paris. Each parkette should include safe passage walkways for kids from their local subdivision and perhaps some activity fitness equipment for kids.

The park looks very nice so far. I'm hoping there will be a pathway to the new shopping center from the park. It would be nice to be able to take kids shopping then stop at the park.

Mini splash pad to cool off at would be phenomenal !! Picnic tables for picnics, ample garbages to reduce littering, little activity centers and monkey bars, a merry-go'round type spinner, and shaded areas are a must

I would like to see a shade structure for the play equipment as young children are at a higher risk of sun exposure. Also if you move the corn hole game to the NE corner there will be room to plant shade trees along the west side of the seating area.

I'm so pleased that plans for a park in this area are underway. It seems a lot time coming.
All the plants should be native and suited for the area (drought tolerant species), including ground cover. Shrubs or berry producing trees would provide more food for birds. Invite kids from Cobblestone PS and Sacred Heart to help plant, even if it's more "work" - classes would love to be involved.
Having a playscape for kids with natural features such as logs and rocks to climb on would be great.
Developers could contribute by sponsoring a bench or something.

With a fast growing town like Paris I think it is very important to develop recreation facilities/parks & parkettes for people and families to enjoy. Keeping families and kids outside and engaged is important and showcasing all Paris has to offer with greenspaces, parks, trails etc only adds to the community. The park has some great features with the basketball and playground along with some trees that will grow and mature. Very happy to see this be implemented and would love to see more as the town grows!

Outdoor fitness equipment would be a great addition. Nice to see some green space incorporated in to the plan

This looks like a great use of the space. It would be awesome if there was also a badminton/volleyball net! I really like the comment from a previous post about naming the park after a community member, like Julie Nichols-Clements.

I would love to see a little free library.

Why are these parks in new developments not paid for by the developers!!! Why is the county paying for them....or should I say why are Citizens paying for them. I can't stand hearing that developers can do as they please because they are exempt from a lot of protection laws, while they continue to make record profits, but they are allowed to give the minimal amount back to the communities they are exploiting. I definitely agree with more green spaces, more green belts for animals to be able to freely migrate and coexist, more parks for children to be active and healthy, but I don't believe it should come at the cost of the individual living in these communities they're having this forced upon them!!!

While I understand that often for safety purposes that low-lying shrubs are not added to parks for safety purposes, would it be possible to feature some perennial native plants in addition to using native species of coniferous and deciduous trees? Paris lost a long time resident, children's author last year, Julie Nichols-Clements, who as a youth was instrumental in installing the courts at Forest Drive Park - it would be awesome to see a park named in her memory.

The Park is long overdue, but hopefully it will get done sooner, rather than later. Also, on the north corner of Crawford Place and Row Lane there needs to be an access to cross the street in front of 2 Crawford Place, so people are not walking across the grass. I would also hope there would be lighting on the pathway so people can see where they are going when it is dark, and that this would be shoveled in the winter along with the sidewalk on both sides of the park, because currently it is not.
