Several new park parcels of land have been acquired by the County of Brant through the development process. As the lands are developed, it is important to name the parks and include them in the Parks Use Bylaw that regulates, protects and governs park operations.
As per the Parks and Recreation Asset Naming Policy, the public is asked to comment and provide suggested names for new parks being developed. The information below details the new areas under consideration.

Rational: Juliet and her husband were early Paris settlers who constructed and resided in the Wolverton House on Grand River Street South. Juliet and her husband Asa, took freed slaves into their home as they travelled along the Grand River after being brought into Canada through the underground railroad.

Rational: Wilton Dawdy was a long serving member of the Paris Optimist Club. Wilton was a former co-owner of Paris Sports. Pat Dawdy previously served on the Paris Police Services Committee.

Rational: 1840 – Thomas Gadd Severed 75 acres of Land for Daughter Elizabeth Frances Gadd and Husband James Bilton Barker. Barker cobblestone house was built from 1840-1842. The home was recently restored and Barker Street was later named as the town was built. The land is aptly named to represent the Paris settlers who lived in this area.
