What is this about?
The County of Brant is proposing an amendment to its Official Plan, A Simply Grand Plan, 2023, under Sections 17 and 22 of the Planning Act. The changes aim to introduce alternative engagement measures for certain development applications in support of more upfront, meaningful, and transparent public involvement in planning processes.
This public meeting will present the proposed changes in this phase of the project for recommendation.
What changes are being considered?
Changes are proposed to the development application review process, including public notice and meeting requirements, application commenting timelines, and delegation of authority policies. These amendments seek to provide clearer direction on engagement requirements for development applications based on their complexity, scale, and potential community impacts.
