  • Share I have read the full report from December 2023 council presentation and have a question regarding the County of Brant Main Library Branch. The first concern is the $37,700,090 budget (2o years ago you would have a 10% overage in building cost today I’m guessing a 15 to 20% would be more accurate let’s use 10% that’s another 3,770,00). An old building will always be an old building needing yearly repairs, in the report if I read it correctly there will also be an issue regarding parking it mentioned on street parking if approved. In my personal opinion if a new library is necessary as stated from library report in 2017 a better location for a fully state of the art facility with plenty of parking is possible for less money. If they are stuck on the location of the Bawcutt Centre because of the $1,000,000 donation they received give it back with interest and take a loss on the $838,307 unrecoverable cost to date and find a suitable parcel of land to build a state of the art facility. on Facebook Share I have read the full report from December 2023 council presentation and have a question regarding the County of Brant Main Library Branch. Thank you for your comments regarding the New Main Library / Bawcutt Centre project.  The County of Brant continues to review this project as part of its budgeting and capital program. Your feedback will be presented to Council as part of the public input towards the development of the Long-Term Financial Plan.
