Review the Draft Community Forest Strategy and share your feedback
The County of Brant has prepared the draft Community Forest Strategy. This strategy will guide how trees, woodlots, and natural areas are protected, managed, and enhanced across the County over the long term.
The draft strategy focuses on:
- Protecting and expanding tree canopy across urban and rural areas
- Supporting healthy, safe, and resilient forests
- Improving tree planting, maintenance, and long-term care
- Strengthening partnerships and community stewardship
- Enhancing recreation, biodiversity, and climate resilience
The strategy was informed by community input gathered through the public survey and partner workshop, where strong support was shown for protecting natural areas and increasing tree canopy coverage.
It also reflects key priorities identified by participants, including:
- Protecting existing natural areas and woodlots
- Increasing tree planting, especially in new neighbourhoods
- Improving education and awareness about tree care and programs
We need your input on the draft strategy.
Before the final strategy is presented to Council on May 5, you are invited to review the draft and share your feedback.
