Construction on Burford Village Square begins at the end of August!

We're excited to share that construction of Burford Village Square (formally referred to as the Burford King Street Parkette), located at King Street and Maple Avenue, will begin Monday, August 24!

Construction is expected to be completed in early November, weather permitting.

The new community space has been shaped by community feedback since public engagement began in early 2025. Following a community open house and voting on two concept options, the design was refined based on what we heard from the community.

Design highlights include:

  • A shaded structure
  • Information kiosk and interpretive signage
  • Picnic areas and seating
  • Prioritizing greenspace while maintaining accessible pathways
  • Mural/public art

The community also helped give the new space its name! Earlier this summer, 494 votes were cast through a community naming contest on Engage Brant, with Burford Village Square selected as the official name.

Thank you to everyone who shared their ideas, provided feedback and voted throughout the process. A special thank you to Burford Connects for working with the County to encourage community participation.

During construction, several parking spaces will be temporarily unavailable. Please use caution when travelling through the parking lot and around the construction area.

We look forward to seeing Burford Village Square become a welcoming place for residents and visitors to gather, connect and enjoy for years to come!

Engagement for this project is now complete. Thank you to everyone who participated!
