Consultation has concluded
Thank you for your participation! Council approved the naming of the Dale Weatherbee Pavilion.
The County of Brant has received a submission from the Burford Optimist Club to rename the Burford Optimist Pavilion to the Dale Weatherbee Pavilion. The pavilion is located at the Burford Community Centre, 14 Potter Drive, Burford.
Dale Weatherbee was a valued member of the Burford Optimist Club and Burford Community. As a long-time member of the Optimist club, Dale was involved in all Burford Optimist initiatives including the Burford Splash Pad where he played a key role in the success of that project.
He was passionate about the community and the work the Optimists do to support the youth within it. Dale's wife, children and grandchildren are all living in the Burford area, still supporting the Optimists and benefitting from the work he put in to the community.

As per the Parks and Recreation Asset Naming Policy, comments will be received for 21 days prior to a recommendation being sent for Council’s consideration.

Dale spent so much time giving he didn’t realize how important he was to this community. Dale made sure that everything he gave to made a difference. He was well liked and especially well loved by the people of this community. It is a great honour to a great man to rename this pavilion to such an amazing and dedicated man If any one deserves this it is Dale Weatherbee Thank you

As Dale Weatherbee's Daughter In Law and mother of 3 of his Grandchildren I believe this is an honour that Dale would be pleased to have his name on. There were many a weekend morning you could find Dale flipping eggs and pea meal or Burgers and hot dogs at this very booth. My children would love to run out back to see Grandpa when there Tball/baseball was done. He always gave to the community and I feel this is a proper respectful way to remember a man who dedicated his life to all the children of Burford.

I agree with the name change. He always helped with the town. He loved doing all he could for the kids. From the splash pad to the power wheels derby

We totally agree. Dale must always be remembered as the ultimate community supporter. He set an exemplary example to the youth of Burford.

As Dale's daughter, I fully support this plan. I know first-hand the dedication that he had to this community and to the Optimist Club and their endeavours. He gave of his time selflessly and wholeheartedly.

I think this is fantastic. Dale extensively gave his time and energy to many projects in the Burford community many of which utilized the pavilion.

Great idea!!! Dale dedicated a large percentage of his life to the Burford Optimist and enjoyed doing it. Very well deserved just wish he was here to see it.
