The Burford Optimist Club and a group of Burford youth, with support from the County of Brant, are leading the way to improve the recreational amenities in Burford.

Parents and youth in the Burford area have expressed the desire to update the skateboard/scooter park located at the Burford Community Centre. Skate parks provide great outdoor activity for youth who don’t play, or can’t afford, organized sports.

Construction for the Skate Park is targeted for summer 2023.

    Burford Skate Park Grand Opening Celebration

    Saturday, June 7, 2025
    11:00 am – 2:00 pm
    Skate Park, 14 Potter Dr, Burford

    You're invited to join the County of Brant and the Burford & District Optimist Club as we celebrate the official Grand Opening of the Burford Skate Park! Thanks to the generosity of our donors and the hard work of our community partners, this newly improved facility is ready for action.

    Arrive by 11:30 am, when formal proceedings begin. Street parking is available around the Community Centre.

    Event highlights:

    • Remarks from County of Brant Mayor, David Bailey, local Councillors and Optimist Club leadership
    • Unveiling of the Burford Skate Park Donor Recognition Wall
    • Professional skateboard demonstrations and a Bike Safety Rodeo
    • Free BBQ for youth; refreshments, treats and other food for purchase
    • Prize draws (including a free bike and scooter package!)

    We look forward to celebrating with you and saying thank you to everyone who helped make this project possible.
